Sanctuary (TV Series)
Executive Producer and Director Martin Wood had wanted to work with Team Velocity and their computerized high speed winch performer flying system for quite awhile and he finally got the opportunity to do so on his successful Sci-Fi series “Sanctuary”.

In a 10 hour one day blitz in close cooperation with Sanctuary’s grip and lighting department, Team Velocity installed their 3D high speed winch performer flying rig in Sanctuary’s green screen stage complete and ready for rehearsals.

Again, in another efficient 10 hour day, Stunt Coordinator Marshall Vertue and Team Velocity were able to rehearse 8 different performer flying elements. The complex nature and the volume of the performer flying elements would not have been possible to rehearse in a day without compromising either the number or the creative content without Team Velocity’s computerized high speed winches. To further add value the flying was performed by actors.

On shooting day Martin was very happy he had chosen to bring Team Velocity and their flying rig onto the show. Martin got great performances out of his actors; as they were so comfortable riding the 3D flying rig. Team Velocity and their rig inspired confidence in the cast allowing them to concentrate on their acting. First Assistant Director Gord Macdonald was pleased to find out how efficient Team Velocity worked allowing him to shoot out his day while still fitting in all eight wire work gags.
