Team Velocity worked on the feature film "Night in the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" where we flew performers and camera for both main and second units.
Different scenes on second unit required several simultaneous elements, coordinated by Team Velocity's motion control technology and their high-speed winches. Stunt Coordinator Dean Choe's past experience with Team Velocity facilitated excellent results during prep with limited rehearsal time. Team Velocity worked efficiently and comfortably with Second Unit Director Gary Capo, First Assistant Director Paul Barry and crew achieving outstanding results.
When Main Unit Director Shawn Levy saw the footage coming in from second unit, Team Velocity was asked back to work with main unit and actor Ben Stiller. The precision and repeatability of Team Velocity’s high-speed winches gave Shawn and Stunt Coordinator J.J. Makaro the confidence to have Ben perform his own stunts. Main unit First Assistant Director Josh McLaglen was very happy with Team Velocity’s pacing and efficiency allowing him to keep to his tight schedule. Shawn, Ben and main unit Cinematographer John Schwartzman were very pleased with the footage produced while working with Team Velocity.
Despite an ever changing shooting schedule Team Velocity worked effortlessly and creatively with Producer Tom Hammel and Production Managers Anne Simonet and Bonnie Benwick to meet their changing needs and requirements.
