April 2007
Bionic Woman (Series Opener)

Michelle Ryan leaps 40 feet from rooftop to rooftop while performing her own stunts.

The Producers gave the ok for Michelle to perform much of her own action wire stunts after seeing first hand the reliability and safety of Velocity's 'Pathfinder' high speed performer flying winches.

Team Velocity worked together with Monte Thompson (Key Stunt Rigger) and Melissa Stubbs (Stunt Coordinator) to turn Michael Dinner's (Main Unit Director) and Andy Cheng's (Second Unit Director) creative vision into technical solutions for their challenging rooftop fight sequence.

Over the course of just a few days Monte, Melissa, Andy and Team Velocity were able to put together the elements of the big live action wire roof top fight sequence. Utilising Team Velocity's high speed winches the stunt team was able to stay true to the Writer's, Michael's, and Andy's vision of the scene. This was no small feat in the world of compressed schedules and budgets of a TV series.

Using the computerised stunt winches allowed the team to put together whole elements that would not previously have been possible with hand operated stunt machines in such a compressed schedule, not to mention the ability to put Michelle Ryan into the live action wire sequence with reliability, precision, and safety.
